Boplaas Touriga Nacional 2008

Marzipan and almond scents spice up plums and black berries/violet tones; long peppery finish with stoutly tannins. Will reward one endlessly with a little bottle aging.

This savoury, complex and medium-bodied red is best accompanied with game or hearty fare-such as "waterblommetjie bredie" accompanied with sweet potatoes/"soet patats" and basmati rice or a more traditional Portuguese Espetada - but will also be most enjoyable with roast poultry. The spicy, earthy and slight "wild" notes to this wine, make is a true "food wine".
