in the vineyard : The Viognier grapes are sourced from The Hughes Family farm, Kasteelsig Vineyards, in Malmesbury, the Chenin and Verdelho from Stellenbosch and Paarl.

about the harvest: The grapes were hand picked into small baskets.

in the cellar : The grapes were taken to Mellasat cellar in Paarl where we fermented our 2009 vintage. 50% of the wine was fermented in tanks, and the rest in small oak barrels, 25% of which were new. Our aim was to create a wine with an harmonious palate and a good finish to partner a wide range of dishes. The wine spent seven months in barrels and tank and was bottled in September 2009. 3 600 bottles have been produced.
