South Africa’s vineyards are mostly situated in the Western Cape near the coast. This is the southernmost region of the African continent, and has a Mediterranean type climate and diverse soils perfectly suited to quality grape production.
in the cellar : Muscadel grapes were harvested when perfectly ripe and were crushed and pressed. The grape juice did not undergo alcoholic fermentation, but was fortified with grape spirit, which has preserved the fresh grape flavours. The resulting wine was then matured for up to 5 years in French oak barrels before bottling.
