Roland's Reserve Syrah 2006 seized the title of Paarl Shiraz of the Year
in the vineyard : Rolands Reserve Syrah was vinified from a selection Syrah vineyards during the 2006 vintage. These vineyards, each with a unique character, were carefully managed during the growing season before being handpicked into small baskets at 26°Balling.

in the cellar :  The berries were destemmed and handsorted to ensure that only healthy, ripe berries were pumped to the fermentation tank. The parcels were fermented and matured separately. The barrels were chosen individually before racking, blending and bottling. The 2006 spent 18 months in 300 litre oak barrels. (50% First Fill; 50% second and third fill; 80% French, 20% American)
