La Petite Ferme Chardonnay 2000

The complex nose consists of toasted almonds, marmalade and biscuit. A full palate is complimented by layers of baked pears, vanilla with a long, distinctive finish.

in the cellar : 80% new wood. Allier, Nevers and Voges. (D&G and Gillet Barrels) 20% second fill French. Full malolactic fermentation. Still on primary leese.
The Chardonnay, situated on the highest slopes of the farm enjoyed longer afternoon sunshine, yet cooler south easterly breezes at night. The wine has enjoyed eight months on the primary lees with regular "batonage". More than half the wine is fermented in new French barriques, with the balance in second fill.
