Our first Semillon is from the Robertsvlei valley, which lies adjacent to Franschhoek and experiences a cool, temperate climate. The grapes were picked fully ripe without losing the desired acidity ~ this is due to the block being from one of the few Australian clone vineyards in SA. The juice was partially tank fermented capturing the typical green fig and floral qualities associated with this cultivar. The balance was fermented in 1st fill Russian oak barriques, resulting in a delicate wine, fruit driven with judicious use of wood.
