in the cellar : Producing the perfect wine is a never ending quest that demands all our time and energy. We know there is an easier and cheaper way of making wine and even easier ways of making a living, but here Marcel de Reuck has chosen his way, which can only be summed up as, no compromise, period.
Our wine philosophy, is not to sell volumes of 'new world' easy drinking commercial tasting wines for the mass market, but to produce a boutique wine, with abundance of flavor and complexity, for the connoisseur, in the niche market place.
Therefore production is not a Coca-cola factory and our red wines are very lightly filtered to avoid stripping the wines of its natural flavours, neither do we cold stabilize red wines after they have been in the barrels for more than a year, for the very same reason, which would cause them to discharge acid and we will always strive not to add acid artificially. This process is understood by wine connoisseurs internationally to whom these wines are dedicated and produced with love and passion.
We strive to produce a wine that has a consistent Marcel de Reuck style with a silky, fruit driven mid-palate, a classic wine which is harmonious and well balanced with a style of its own
