in the vineyard : This is Morgenster's second vintage of Rosé made from Sangiovese, the Tuscan grape of Chianti and a source of very good Rosé wine. Cooler weather in spring and summer promoted the formation of aromatic components in the grapes, resulting in a luscious wine with rich layers of Tuscan flavour. Once again quantities are limited, with emphasis placed on excellence. Caruso is the third label in Italian owner Giulio Bertrand’s Italian Collection. Not finding a suitably short opera name to link it to Tosca (Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon) and Nabucco (Nebbiolo) Bertrand called this "little brother of Tosca" after Enrico Caruso, the tenor whose powerful voice was celebrated for its beauty and richness of tone.

about the harvest: This year's harvest quality was exceptional. Cooler spring and summer weather resulted in slow even ripening which promoted the formation of the aromatic components of the grapes.
