Lively and vibrant lime green colour. A perfumed nose of rose petals and spice with honeyed raisins and lanolin creamy tones. Beautiful grapey entry with a rich nougat nutty impact on the palate.

This wine is ideal as an aperitif or as a drink in front of a cosy fire.

in the vineyard : Area of origin: Breede River, South Africa.
Vineyard: Mature established vineyards on limestone Karoo soils, hand pruned, yielding 7 tons/ha.

about the harvest: Hand picked early morning on 10 March 2008, at a sugar level of 26.4° Balling.

in the cellar : The handpicked grapes were destalked to a horizontal fermenter to allow maximum skin contact during wild fermentation. After approximately 3% alcohol was formed, the fermenting juice was fortified on the skins and left for 24 hours to integrate. The skins were then pressed and a portion taken to old Cap Classique barrels for maturation.
