Uitkyk Riesling 1998

Pale straw in colour with a delightful, fruity nose which follows through on the palate. Elegant, crisp and dry. Ideal with seafood, delicately flavoured poultry dishes and summer soups, pasta and salads.

in the vineyard : The Riesling grapes came from the Boesmansrug and Perskekop vineyards, planted between 1976 and 1987 in deep, red decomposed granite. The vines are trellised.

about the harvest: The grapes were picked by hand at 21° Balling on February 28.

in the cellar : The yield was 7 tons per hectare. In the cellar the juice received 4 hours skin contact and fermented cold at 15° C for 11 days.
