Laibach The Luck Bug 2009

This is the first vintage of this wine for Laibach. We are well known for our full bodied reds, well-structured and enough tannin to mature, but many people do not like to drink these wines every day. We decided to create something new, soft, and plumy with good fruit and almost no wood influence at all. An everyday drink, to enjoy with the 'lighter' things in life. A real joy.

Good fresh colour with lovely violet and perfume characteristic. Soft plum with oodles of crushed berry and spice well supported with a light refreshing soft palate.

A wine for everyday enjoyment which can also be served chilled.

in the vineyard : This wine is made from young vineyards which are in the process of going organic. It is very carefully handled and fruit was our main priority.

in the cellar : Fermented in open fermentation tanks, we ferment colder than usual and we keep cap management to the minimum. Pressing is done earlier to avoid any extraction from the seeds. Malolactic is done in stainless and no wood treatment is given. We did blend in a small wooden component to add to the complexity and structure just before bottling. The wine was bottled in February with a light filtration.
