GlenWood Shiraz / Merlot 2010

The 2010 Shiraz/Merlot blend was fermented in small open-top fermenters and matured for twelve months in small French and American barrels. This has produced an opulent fruit-driven wine with smooth, subtle tannins and explosive, ripe berry flavours.

Vintage
A well balanced red wine vintage. The grapes reached optimum ripeness with ease, and the balance between yield and growth needed minimal interference.

in the cellar :  The best quality grapes were selected, gently pressed and fermented in half-ton open-top fermenters. The grapes were punched down by hand six times a day and fermented until dry. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barrel and was matured for 12 months in second-fill French and American oak to produce a well-integrated, complex profile.
