in the cellar : Pinotage is South Africa’s unique grape variety, with characteristics of very deep colour and an intense fruitiness. It is one of the country’s most versatile varieties, capable of attractive wines across the spectrum of Rose, unwooded juicy everyday table wines as well as expensively oaked fine wines. At the top quality level, it has the ability to age very well, as resent tastings of bottling of various wines from the 1960s have proved.
A variety of oak barrels were used and while the tannins are well integrated, giving immediate smooth drinkability.
