in the vineyard : The core of the grape supply is found just to the north of Stellenbosch, bordered by the town of Wellington to the North- East, and the mountains of the Drakenstein and Franschhoek ranges to the South-East.

To the South-West, Durbanville and Philadelphia, while to the North-West it borders the Swartland wine district. The area has many different climatic zones, soils and aspects and thus succeeds with a wide range of styles and varieties.

The Paarl Wine Route is also known as "The Red Route", for its legendary red wines. Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards are mostly planted in the warmer parts of the region, with planting densities of approx 3200 – 3400/ha and with some supplementary irrigation. Production averages at approx 9 tons/ ha. Trellised and planted in the shale soils towards the North-Eastern parts of the Paarl Valley (bordering the Swartland region), supplementary irrigation is used where  necessary for Shiraz. Planting density is approximately 3400 vines/ha.

in the cellar : When selecting the grapes for this range, we aim to introduce an element of softness and easy accessibility into the wines. Little or no oak is used during fermentation and the wine is released without further oak maturation. Blending between varietals allows us to select the best of both to achieve this.
