Nabygelegen Petit Verdot 2008

This rich wine has been produced in the excellent soils of Wellington and has flavor of cassis and ripe plums with intense vanilla and dark chocolate aromas. Unusual as a single variety, this wine represents the back bone of many famous blends.

about the harvest: Cool temperature harvest and extensive bunch and berry selection.

in the cellar : The Petite Verdot was cold soaked over a long periodbefore undergoing extended fermentation in stainless steel tanks.Regular aerated pumpovers with further carbonic maceration post formation for up to 10 days ensured the correct flavour extraction. The wine was then racked, pressedand underwent Malolactic Fermentation and a further 12 months maturation in a selection of different French Barrels before unfiltered bottling.
