Wine style: Medium-bodied with typical varietalcharacteristics of red berry fruit and spice.
Nose: Spicy aromas of clove and pepperfollowed by soft liquorice and anoverwhelming burst of red berry fruit.
Palate: A fine complexity is revealed as a strongvanilla flavour joins subtle red cherries.A firm yet soft tannin structure with alingering after-taste.

in the vineyard : Grapes come from Swartland,Perdeberg in Agter-Paarl and theFranschhoek Valley.

about the harvest: Grapes were picked at 24.5° Balling.

in the cellar : 80% of the wine was matured in225-litre French oak barrels for aperiod of 12 months. The balance of thewine was oak staved for 6 months withadded micro-oxygenation.

Grapes were sorted,destemmed and crushed. Fermentationtook place with selective yeastaccompanied by pump-overs andpunch-downs at 28° C.
