Steenberg Sphynx Chardonnay 2013 SOLD OUT

On the nose notes of lime, peach, apricot, pear drop and butterscotch jump out of the glass. The palate is soft and smooth with hints of vanilla, stone fruits and citrus, beautifully textured and rich with a creamy finish.

about the harvest: Grapes sourced from Robertson, Darling and Constantia.

Yield: 4.5t/ha
in the cellar : Grapes sourced from Robertson and Darling and Constantia. Barrel fermented for a total of 6 weeks in 100% new, small French oak barrels. Partial malolactic fermentation took place in barrel, but was not allowed to complete in order to retain freshness. Hereafter the wine was taken to stainless steel to spend a further 3 months on fine lees before it was fined bottled in July 2013.
