in the vineyard : Rooted in deep fine granite Hutton and Tukulu soils on the slopes of the Helderberg, these vineyards enjoy the refreshingly cool breezes from the Atlantic Ocean during the hot summer months, resulting in even ripening of the berries.

about the harvest: A minimum interference approach is taken in the vineyards to get a true reflection of the unique terroir. Vertical shoot positioned trellised vines of 16 and 12 years old were used to produce grapes in cooler pockets of Stellenbosch.

in the cellar : This wine has been naturally fermented and barrel-matured in French oak for 24 months before being bottle-matured for a further year before release.
