DeWaal Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 - Sold Out

The De Waal Cabernet Sauvignon is a classically made wine which is dark red in colour. It is a full bodied wine with flavours of cassis and dark fruit. The palate is intense, with a lingering finish and well integrated tannins.

The De Waal Cabernet Sauvignon goes well with all meat dishes.

in the vineyard : This wine is produced from trellised vineyards situated on warmer North facing slopes. The soil type is Gravel & Loam. The vines are 25 years of age.
about the harvest: These vines produce 9.5 tons per hectare. The grapes were harvested on the 15th of March 2012.
in the cellar : The pressing of the grapes and the fermentation period takes 14 days. The wine is then aged in 225L French Barriques for 18 months. 50% new oak and 50% 2nd fill.
