Hint of sweet vanilla highlights, loads of red fruit flavours, spicy, peppery Shiraz enriched by oak. Aged in 100% new oak barrels. Serve with smoked cesses and waterblommetjie bredie.

in the vineyard : The vineyards stretch up to 300 metres above sea level with the cool evening breezes and mists from the Atlantic Ocean, 7kms away, having the effect of causing slow ripening conditions for the grapes.

about the harvest: The grapes were harvested on the 19 February 1999 with a yield of 5 tons per hectare.

in the cellar : Pump over 3 times daily and left on skin for 10 days. Kept in American Oak for 12 months, 100% new Oak.
