This handcrafted Merlot has a deep dark colour and complex fruitcake aroma, leading to a lush palate with subtle tannins and hints of chocolate and vanilla. This is the maiden vintage of the historical Fraai Uitzicht 1798 winecellar, in the ward Klaas Voogds, Robertson. Produced from carefully selected grapes from cool southern slopes, this wine has a true terroir character. Bottled unfiltered to preserve cultivar personality, the wine may show a slight sediment on maturation.
