Vrede en Lust Artisan Range Early Mist Riesling 2014

The Natural Sweet Riesling is an elegant wine showcasing the sweeter style of Riesling. The wine shows sweet blossom fragrance, notes of honeysuckle and gooseberry. Bright lemon zest acidity balances the natural sugar levels in the wine, resulting in a finely balanced wine.

The Early Mist Riesling is a special contribution for our wine club members.

The wine is named after the early mist cloud covering the Elgin vineyards during harvest season.

Most Rieslings are consumed when they are young, while showing the most aromatic characteristics.
in the vineyard : Vrede en Lust Artisan Range Early Mist Riesling 2014 2013 saw the first crop of our newly planted Riesling blocks.

For the 2014 harvest season Susan decided to play around with the Riesling grapes and make two different styles of Riesling. The Early Mist is a natural sweet Riesling, and only 1700 bottles was produced of this terroir driven wine.
in the cellar : The wine fermented at very low temperature in stainless steel. Fermentation was stopped at the desired sugar and alcohol levels.
