The Vrede en Lust Artisan Range is handmade, in small quantities, especially for our Wine Club members who are always the first to receive new releases. The result - a deep purple coloured wine, with typical Pinotage fruit on the nose, matured in barrel for 11 months leading to balanced complexity between fruit and oak.

in the vineyard : The Pinotage grapes are sourced from our vineyards in Simonsberg-Paarl, the same Pinotage block where the Jess comes from.

about the harvest: The grapes were harvested at 25º Balling.

in the cellar :

Fermented in an open fermenter – malolactic fermentation took place in oak – and the wine was matured for a further 11 months before bottling.

10 Barrels were specially selected by the winemaker to make this unique terroir driven wine.
