in the vineyard : The Pinot Noir vineyards were planted on Vrede en Lust’s Elgin farm Casey’s Ridge in 2010 and 2011. The clones (PN115A and PN777) were planted on Table Mountain Sandstone and Skalie/Nabank soil.

about the harvest: The grapes were harvested in February.

in the cellar : The grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks after careful berry sorting took place. After inoculation the juice was carefully handled with light pump-over and gentle pressing. Aged for 9 months in French oak barrels, no new oak was used.

Only 4660 bottles were produced of this wine.
