We are delighted to introduce the first edition of Little Rock Blanc, a vintage designed for every day enjoyment. The wine is produced using a blend of four distinct grapes: Semillon, Viognier, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The blend displays a pale straw green colour with a citrus and peach flavour and an elegantly balanced texture and acidity.

in the vineyard :

The 2015 season at Mont Rochelle was one of the driest and earliest in years. August was warm, meaning the buds came earlier than normal. Summer on the whole was warm, dry and windy which accelerated the ripening of the grapes. Following this warm weather, the temperature at the start of the year was cooler than normal which in fact made it ideal for ripening and harvesting in February. The lower temperatures at night contributed towards the good colour and flavour development.

Vine age: 13 - 22 years
Vines per Ha: 4,000

about the harvest:

We always harvest the grapes in the morning.

Harvested: 12 February - 03 March 2014
Harvest Method: Hand

in the cellar :

After the harvest a gentle pressing and settling followed. The juice from the grapes is then fermented at 12 degrees in stainless steel and oak barrels, preserving the aromatic notes from each batch. Each of the four cultivated varieties of grape that produce the blend is fermented separately and then the blending occurs prior to bottling.
