A wooded Chardonnay with a rich nose, full of limes, butter and toastiness. The lively palate has ripe citrus fruit, toasty oak and a long finish.

National Young Wine Show 2001 - Gold Medal
in the vineyard : Goedverwacht, situated in the Bonnievale Wine of Origin area which falls within the Robertson District in the Breede River Valley, is owned by vintner Jan du Toit. The Estate has approximately 100 hectares under vines, producing in the region of 11 000 liters per hectare. This is substantially lower than the capability of the vines, but Jan believes that this is part of the estates success.

Terroir: Gentle east sloping limy sandstone.

about the harvest: Harvesting starts in mid-January and only early in the morning while it is still cool. This factor combined with climate, vine and the watchful eye of the vinter has resulted in wines winelovers love, share and talk about.
