The first production of our Shiraz vineyards in Elgin was in 2010 and we bottled a 5-barrel run from that vintage under the Artisan Range. In 2012 we selected 17 barrels for this terroir driven wine.
The Syrah is expressive in the cooler climate aroma profile and showcases the under toned spice and herb profile, lined with elegant tannins.The 2011 Casey’s Ridge Syrah was awarded a silver medal at the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show.

about the harvest: The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness.

in the cellar : Fermented in stainless steel tanks. This wine spent 14 months in French oak before bottling. 17 Barrels was made for the 2012 vintage.
