Zevenrivieren Cabernet Sauvignon 2000

The wine has an appealing red brick colour and exhibits some classic Cabernet Sauvignon "eucalyptus" hints on the nose. The palate show some attractive soft cedar wood characteristics and youngberry fruit flavours. A medium bodied wine with approachable tannins which contribute to good structure.

ageing : It will continue to develop and improve in the bottle for the next four years.

in the vineyard : This distinctive style of Cabernet Sauvignon originates from cool, high-altitude vineyards on the north-east slopes of the Jonkershoek Mountains.

in the cellar : The wine was made in a modern new world style concentrating on upfront red fruit flavours such as raspberry and youngberry yet with enough tannins and colour to lend the wine body and intensity. Only 40% of the wine was wood matured, the remainder was left in a stainless steel tank to preserve the elusive fruit flavours.
