The Pionier Pinotage is a tribute to the world’s first bottle of Pinotage - a 1959 Lanzerac Pinotage. This wine delivers dense, concentrated fruit and layers of different flavours. Christmas spices of nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon surround plums, prunes, berries and currants whilst the well-integrated oak and soft, silky tannins add backbone and length.
An elegant wine, with enough structure to enable it to last for a decade or more, it’s best paired with Springbok fillets with a red wine and cranberry jus.
