AWARDS
Short history of Hendrik Boom Wines:
Jonkheer has launched a one-liter red and white twosome in honor of Hendrik Boom, Jan van Riebeeck's gardener. Hendrik Boom arrived in the Cape in 1652 and was appointed Main Gardener. As such he became the first to plant vines, which were imported in 1657. It was only in 1679 that the wine industry in South Africa became organized and sufficient.

The label feature the HAKA (Help Aids Kids of Africa) logo - a support project for children under the Van Zyl Foundation Charity Trust. A portion of the sales of Hendrik Boom will be donated to the project.
