The name Côtes de Savoye is a tribute to Jacques de Savoye, the first owner of the property in 1688. In 2002 the first vintage of wine from our farm was labeled as Jacques de Savoye to pay tribute to him and after 13 years we’ve decided to return to our roots with this release.

in the vineyard : The vineyard development which we’ve done at Vrede en Lust over the past couple of years included the planting of Grenache and Viognier giving us scope to produce more Rhône-style red wines.

about the harvest: The grapes was harvested at optimal ripeness.

in the cellar : The grapes was harvested at optimal ripeness and the different components all fermented and aged separately. The wine matured on oak for 12 months before bottling.
