in the vineyard : The vineyards are about 20 years old. The vines are planted in well drained decomposed granite soil of Klapmuts mountain. Yield 9T/ha with an unusual growing season in 2018 because of the ongoing drought. Average rainfall is about 750mm however, only received 550mm in the last 12 months.

about the harvest: Harvest was 10 days later than normal and gave the grapes the opportunity to gain balanced structures.

in the cellar : The components were vinified separately and started with whole bunch press, separating the juice from the skins as soon as it reached the cellar. Juice was treated reductively, preventing it from oxidation. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at 13°C and took 14 days to complete. Afterwards wine was racked and blended.
