Laibach Unfiltered Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot 1997

Thanks to the extended period in barrels, this wine has a soft and round structure. Ruby red. The wine has a beautiful wood balance and a soft, round and ripe tannin with an intense aftertaste. The wood backs up the intense fruit of this wine to ensure a prefect balance. Dense complex nose with cassis and red berry aromas. Concentrated berry combine with some fine vanilla wood flavours. Very elegant and classic bordeaux style. Richness develops on the palate. Very long and delicate on the palate.

The grapes were all hand picked at full ripeness and vinified separately to preserve their individual characteristics. Fermentation lasted for 3-4 weeks during which temperatures were controlled and colour extracted from the skins by regular pumping over of the juice. After two years in small French oak barrels the wine was bottled without any filtration in March 1999.
