The wine highlights the story of Maria Marais, the resourceful and feisty young widow who took over the building of the Estate's manor house after the death of her husband Charles, in 1813. The home was completed the following year and is now a national monument.

about the harvest: 

The grapes were hand-picked at 40° - 44º Balling in April.

in the cellar : 

The juice was fermented at 13º to 14ºC over 18 days. One third portion of the wine has been aged in a 500L new French oak barrel for 6 months. No malolactic fermentation was allowed.
