in the vineyard : 2018 was a fine and cool vintage with everything being in place for making a great wine. The grapes were picked at full phenolic ripeness, with the batches undergoing stringent berry-selection to ensure only the purest, best fruit to undergo vinification. The wine-making focused on the development of mouthfeel, extra care being taken to avoid over-extraction and to ensure the accent remains on clean, bright fruit characters expressing the exceptional vineyard character.

in the cellar : During alcohol fermentation frequent pump-overs were done to ensure good colour and tannin extraction and to enhance the length and mouth feel of the wine. The components were selected from different Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vineyards. The wines were made and aged separately and selected batches were used for the blend. The Cabernet Sauvignon forms the backbone with the Merlot adding elegant fruitiness and flair.
