Fryers Cove Cape West Coast Grenache Cinsault 2021

This medium-bodied wine is bright and exuberant in colour with light violet hues. It is packed with aromas of wild raspberry and a hint of clove spice. It boasts smooth tannins with a balanced acidity, giving it a seductive round finish.

This wine will pair well with game or a meaty-style fish such as a tuna steak. Serve lightly chilled if paired with spicy foods.

This new Fryer’s Cove range has been released to make the wines of our wild Cape West Coast more accessible. The range consists of a Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Grenache Cinsault. These premium wines are made to reflect the rugged terroir and landscape of our Cape West Coast and come from a selection of vineyards surrounding our cellar. Their look and feel are closely associated with the Bamboes Bay range, but they are not so rare and are therefore more available for those who want the unmistakable Fryer’s Cove taste.

in the vineyard : Our Grenache and Cinsault vineyards average around 20 years old and are planted close to the bracing, cold Atlantic which brings in the cooling air that, with careful nurture, can actually promote good health in the vineyards,. 2021 was an unusually cool year for us, but “slow and steady wins the race”. It was cooler than normal in the season leading up to harvest with a long ripening period that resulted in a good balance of concentration and flavour in our grapes and overall wonderful expression of terroir.
