The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot offers juicy red fruit with layers of cherry, mulberry and dark chocolate. An integrated red wine with elegant, refined fruit bolstered by delicate tannins to prolong the enjoyment of a satisfying red wine.

This new wine is a blend of South Africa’s two most popular red varieties, with Cabernet Sauvignon leading the combination at 70% to Merlot at 30%. Both varieties are grown on the estate where they have been a part of the wine offering for over three decades.
in the vineyard : The vineyards are farmed in unirrigated conditions to ensure optimum concentration of fruit and focussed varietal expression
in the cellar : Grape batches with the potential for offering a juicy, fruit-forward wine are identified whereafter vinification commences with traditional methods of manual punch-down for maximum expression of flavour and colour.

The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot components are aged separately in stainless steel tanks, to provide fruit brightness and a fresh, approachable structure, as well as in used 225l French oak barrels for a softer, plush element that adds a touch of delectable spice to the wine. The two varietal components are then blended to meet the vision of this marrying of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot - an integrated red wine with elegant, refined fruit bolstered by delicate tannins to prolong the enjoyment of a satisfying red wine.
