Silcrete is a lithological term for a strongly hardened rock composed mainly of inherited quartz grains. These rocky soils are ideal for growing Cinsault. Our fruit come from 28-year-old dryland bush vines, yielding a fragrant wine with intense fruit aromas and lacy tannins. Aged in large and old wooden barrels to add complexity and balance.

in the cellar : The grapes are hand harvested in the morning. Approximately 30-50% of the grapes are whole bunch fermented. During the 7-10 days of fermentation the wines are pumped over two to three times a day. Some of the grapes receive extended skin contact after fermentation before it is pressed and racked to barrel. The wine is matured in French oak barrels for up to 18 months, before blending and bottling
