Immense in all proportions, this wine defines the case for terroir versus varietalism. Complex aromas of cassis and blackberry fruits, with hints of cedar and violets play center stage along with spice, mineral and tobacco notes. The palate is thick with layers of fine-grained tannins encapsulating the flavors that emerge in successive waves, and provide a sustained finish. Created by owner Simon Barlow as a tribute to his late father, who set unprecedented standards for the winery back in the 1940's.
