Wildekrans Barrel Select Reserve Cabernet Franc 2018

A soft first impression to this wine. The nose is full with rich red fruit and a slight fynbos note. Very smooth, surprisingly gentle tannins, underpinned with blackcurrant, and good spicy depth.

Goes well with big cuts of Steak / Portobello Mushrooms / Olives

about the harvest: When planted at the correct time, these grapes deliver a beautiful Bordeaux style wine. This wine has been made with time and care in a slow and gentle process to produce an elegant style of wine that shows off this cultivar.

in the cellar : The grapes were cold soaked for 5 days in white wine tanks. Yeast inoculation was done once natural fermentation had started. This wine has been aged in French oak barrels for 10 months.
