Intense dark ruby red colour. Spicy, saddle bag flavours, complimented by the oak and rounded off by berry flavours. Full bodied wine with a lot of ripe fruit flavours on the palate.

in the vineyard : Soil: Grown as bush vine on medium potential soil of decomposed granite on the foothills of the Paardeberg and unirrigated.
Climate: The Swartland falls within the coastal winter rainfall area. Warm, dry summers, moderated by cool Atlantic breezes.
Annual rainfall: 400mm average.

about the harvest: All Shiraz comes from bush vines. It is hand harvested at optimum ripeness.

in the cellar : Fermented in rotor tanks between 25-29ºC. Malolactic fermentation is started as soon as fermentation is finished. After wood maturation the final blends are made prior to bottling.
