Mooiplaas Shiraz 2000

Deep purple colour, almost black. Nose shows an interesting mix of roasted oak flavours with the typical spice and fynbos of Shiraz. Lovely balance of fruit and oak on the palate, concentrated with a long finish and excellent mouth feel.
Enjoy with steak or any red meat dishes.

in the vineyard : 9 Year old vines, trellised on a three wire vertical system with supplementary irrigation.

about the harvest: Harvested on the 8th of March 2000 at 26.2° Balling.

in the cellar : 19 Days on the skins in a closed tank at approx 20 - 25° C, pumped over at least 3 times per day during fermentation. 17 months in small barrels.
