Le Bonheur Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) 1999

Veritas 2003 - Silver
Colour: Dark ruby-red; brilliant, with good depth.
Bouquet: A warm and inviting nose of crushed blackcurrant, ripe plums, coffee, cigar box and vanilla-oak spice.
Taste: A juicy mouthful, savoury with plenty of fruit, backed by firm wooding and tannins. Long finish. Again, another Le Bonheur Cabernet Sauvignon star which will, like its predecessors, be roundly applauded.

Full-bodied and rich, the Le Bonheur Cabernets are delightful to drink on their own. Serve at 18 degrees Celsius with uncluttered dishes such as fine roast lamb or beef, best quality steak or Chateaubriand. The perfect wine for mature, hard, yellow cheeses.

AWARDS
Veritas 2003 - Silver

ageing : The wine has so much structure that it will develop even greater complexity when cellared under the right conditions.

in the vineyard : The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon was produced from three different clones: 15, 169 and 46C, which are deep-coloured and thick-skinned grapes producing dark, flavoursome wine. The cabernet sauvignon vineyard blocks at Le Bonheur are situated at an altitude of 200 to 350 metres above sea level, and face east to north-east. In 1999 these vineyards were between 7 and 26 years old. They are cultivated under dry-land conditions.

in the cellar : After reaching optimum ripeness, the grapes were brought to the cellar end fermented in rotation tanks. Maturation took place in small French oak casks.
