The 1993 Uiterwyk Estate Wine was the first Cape Blend to be made in South Africa.
A Cape Blend is a wine in which Pinotage is the crucial component of the blend. Cabernet Sauvignon adds body and length, Pinotage: fruit and richness, Cabernet Franc: elegance and Merlot contributes softness.
