Journeys End Chardonnay 2002

The appearance is clean and bright with a pale gold colour. Upfront citrus on the nose with a hint of vanilla and stewed fruit. Well-balanced fruit with solid alcohol on the palate. Crisp acidity supported by a lemony aftertaste. Finished off by the toastiness of the barrels and ripe jammy and botrytis undertones.
Chardonnay gives very lively aromas of ripe lemons, tropical fruit (pineapple) and even melon when crown in warmer areas. When oak barrel fermented and matured the fruit becomes less apparent and the wine is driven more by “yeasty butter” and toasted aromas.
