Helderberg Cabernet/Pinotage 2003

A lovely violet red colour with lots of herb and spice on the nose, layered in toasty oak with a hint of nectar. Medium bodied wine with fine tannins, covered in wild berries and plums with notes of mint and pine.

in the vineyard : Age of vines are between 12 - 25 years. Vines are grafted on rootstocks 101-14 Mgt, Richter 99 depending on the potential of the soil (weathered granite soil type) and planted on the lower Southern slopes. These vines are trellised on a 5-wire hedge system or trained as bush vines.
