Helderberg Pinotage 2003

Deep red colour with a up frontal berry fruit nose. Lots of ripe blackberries and mulberries on the palate layered in rich smoky, vanilla flavours. Full bodied with smooth dry tannins which leads to a rich, lasting finish.

in the vineyard : Age of vines are between 12 - 25 years. Vines are grafted on rootstocks 101-14 Mgt, Richter 99 depending on the potential of the soil (weathered granite soil type)and planted on the lower Southern slopes. These vines are trellised on a 5-wire hedge system.
