Bovlei Cape Ruby Port

This pleasant, lower in alcohol, uncomplicated style of Port has a plum-coloured tint with spicy Ruby aromas on the nose. The fruitiness can be tasted and it has a low tannin contents.

Serve with nuts, nutty deserts, fruity Christmas cake of dessert.

in the vineyard : The Bovlei Port NV is made from grapes over 3 vintages. The cultivars used were Ruby Cabernet, Cabernet Franc, Roobernet and Grenach.

about the harvest: During all 3 vintages the grapes were harvested together.

in the cellar : After the harvest the grapes were crushed and destemmed and fermented in Rotor tanks. When the right sugar levels were obtained, the fermenting grapes were pressed and the juice fortified with brandy spiritus from the KWV. After maturation in stainless steel tanks the vintages were blended together, protein stabilized with Wyoming Bentonite and naturally cold stabilized.
