Drostdy Hof Cabernet Sauvignon 1998

On the nose the wine displays aromas of strawberry and stewed fruit. A touch of vanilla and truffel aromas contribute to the complexity of the wine. On the palate it is medium-bodied with berry flavours and a touch of nuttiness. The tannins are soft and the wine has a fruity finish.

in the vineyard : The grapes came from vineyards in the Coastal Region.

about the harvest: The grapes were picked between 23 and 13,5 °Balling during March and early April.

in the cellar : In the cellar the juice fermented on the skins for 5 days.The skins were pressed, removed and fermentation was completed. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation and was matured in wood for 12 months – 15 % in new French oak, 35% in second-fill casks and 50 % in third-fill casks.
