ageing : It is an easy, approachable young wine that could be enjoyed now but will mature well for the next 2 to 3 years.

in the vineyard : The grapes came from vineyards in the Coastal Region, with the majority of the fruit being from the Stellenbosch and Agter Paarl area.

about the harvest: The grapes were picked(hand and machine harvested) between 24 and 25 °Balling during the last week of February and the beginning of March.

in the cellar : This is a medium style wine, made for early enjoyment and combines the oppulent upfrunt fruitiness of a new world wine with the structure and intenstiy associated with Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine was fermented for five days on the skins to preserve as much fruit as possible and extract enough color without extracting the full-bodied tannins. 30% of the wine was matured in 3rd fill barrels and the rest was matured on French oak staves for 9 months to add a bit of spice and complexity.
